Terms and Conditions

​

By submitting an online registration, the applicant hereby signifies their agreement to this Agreement and attests to their understanding of the conditions outlined herein. The applicant further acknowledges that they agree to the terms set forth and recognizes that all obligations mentioned in the Terms and Conditions must be fulfilled in a timely manner. Failure to do so shall result in the invalidation of the candidate's registration.

 

Applicants must be at least 17 years of age by February 24, 2024, and have graduated from a professional ballet school in order to apply. Alternatively, applicants can be experienced professional dancers under the age of 26 at the time of the audition.

 

Female dancers must have a minimum height of 160cm, while male dancers must have a minimum height of 175cm.

 

1. By signing this Agreement, the candidate, or their parent or legal representatives, acknowledges that they may be waiving important legal rights. The candidate or their parent or legal representatives should carefully read and comprehend this Agreement before signing, in order to fully understand the rights they may be giving up.

 

2. The Grand Audition is organized by Dance & Dancers Art Productions, hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer." The registered applicant/participant of the Grand Audition shall be referred to as the "Candidate." For applicants under the age of 18, their parent or legal representatives shall be referred to as the "Candidate."

 

3. The submission of an application for the Grand Audition implies the full acceptance of the Terms and conditions between the parties: the Organizer and the Candidate (or their legal representative). This agreement is considered read and accepted when the Candidate (or their legal representative) clicks the "Submit and proceed to payment" button on the online registration form pertaining to the Terms & Conditions.
 

1. The primary objective of the Grand Audition is to provide young professional dancers with the opportunity to showcase their talents to a panel of Artistic Directors or their official Representatives from various ballet companies. The aim is to secure a position within one of these esteemed companies.

 

2. It is the sole responsibility of the Candidate to ensure that they possess the necessary identification documents. Additionally, if required, the Candidate must obtain a valid visa to travel to Spain or any other European Union (EU) country for participation in the Grand Audition. The "Organiser" will not provide Visa supporting letters or any related documents.

 

3. The Grand Audition does not cover travel expenses, accommodation arrangements, or meals during the event. The Organiser reserves the right to make changes or substitutions to the scheduled Artistic Directors as and when necessary. 

 

The registration process is outlined as follows:

 

- The last date to register for the Budapest location is January 1, 2024, or until the maximum number of accepted applicants has been reached.

- It is important to note that transfer to another location (if such to take place) will not be facilitated if the Candidate cancels their participation or is unable to attend the initially chosen location. In such cases, the Candidate must re-submit a new form and go through the evaluation process again, with applicable fees.

 

How to Apply:

 

Interested candidates are required to complete the Online Registration Form available on the official website of the Grand Audition (www.grandaudition.net). Within this form, there is a designated link to upload the candidate's recent video performance, which must be set as "unlisted" on YouTube.

 

To complete the application process, the Candidate must make a non-refundable Registration Processing fee payment of €45.00 (including 21% IVA) through the secure Online Payment System.

 

It is important to remember that the Registration fee is non-refundable. Unpaid registrations will not be reviewed and will be automatically terminated within two days without further notice.

 

In order to ensure a fair and efficient evaluation process, we kindly request that all participants adhere to the following guidelines when submitting their registration for the dance audition:
 

Video Requirements:
 

A) The video must be not older than 5 months and it must include the following exercises performed on a center: Ladies on pointe

  • Adagio

  • Pirouettes

  • Entrechat six

  • Grand Allegro

  • Double tours (for Gentlemen only)
     

B) Additionally variation from the classical ballet repertoire can be included, with the dancer clearly dressed in appropriate ballet attire. The variation can be of any choice and does not have to be from the GA list of variations. This requirement is "Optional". 


Photograph Requirements:
 

When filling out the registration form, candidates are required to upload two (2) color photographs with a clear background. It is essential that the images are in high-resolution format and do not exceed 2MB in size.


The photographs should include:

  1. A headshot with a clear background

  2. A photograph of the candidate in Arabesque (Demi-Pointe for gentlemen, On Pointe for Ladies) or in a ballet position that clearly shows the candidate's full body line.
     

Please note that "selfies" are not acceptable, and photographs taken on the beach, forest, city, car, or screenshots will not be considered. Failure to provide the requested photographs in the specified format will result in disqualification of the registration, and the processing fee will be forfeited.
 

Important Information:
 

  • It is crucial to accurately enter the Candidate's date of birth during the registration process. Any incorrect information will render the registration invalid and will not be accepted.

  • The evaluation of Candidates' abilities and professional level will be conducted by a jury led by the Artistic team of Dance & Dancers Art Productions. The results will be communicated to the candidate via the email address provided in the registration form within 5 days or earlier. Please be aware that the decision of the jury is final.

 

Selected Candidates of the Grand Audition are required to confirm their participation by making an Event Administrative payment of €290 (including VAT 21%) within 3 calendar days of receiving the acceptance email notification letter. Failure to make the payment within the specified deadline will result in the termination of the registration. Please note that the fees for this particular location are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another participant or any other Grand Audition event.

The candidate must choose and submit the variation they will be presenting for the second round if they are selected by the Artistic Director(s) after class. The variation can be changed by just sending us the email as long as it is from the provided list. Please refer to the GA list of variations.
The Candidate must have a USB with a music file (in mp3 or .wav format) of the variation they presented. The quality of the recording must be "excellent". If the Candidate is selected for the second round, the USB must be submitted on time, as defined by the organizer. The USB must be marked with the name and number of the Candidate and contain ONLY a recording of the variation presented. Candidates without audio recordings of the Variation will not be allowed to the 2nd round.

Variations are preferred to be presented in full costume and makeup. However, if the candidate has difficulties obtaining a costume, it is allowed to present the variation in proper ballet attire.
 Please carefully review and check your registration information before submission.
Please make sure to check if the email address entered on the registration form is correct. We will only respond to an email entered by the candidate on the form. D&D Art Productions is not responsible for the information entered on the registration form by the Candidate or their representatives.
 It is the candidate's responsibility to review the information they enter and ensure its accuracy.

 

At the Grand Audition

DAY ONE

​

  1. A presentation of the Artistic Directors.

  2. Class in the presence of Artistic Directors who will select the dancers they would like to see presenting a variation.

  3. D&D Art Productions Representative will post the selected Candidates' numbers on the board after each class is over.

  4. All decisions by Artistic Directors are final.

  5.  Parents / Teachers / Participants are not permitted to observe the Grand Audition.

DAY TWO

​

  1. Selected Candidates warm-up Class (without Artistic Directors)

  2. Variations are presented in front of the Artistic Directors.

  3. After the variation presentation, the Artistic Directors will make their selection of the Candidates.

  4. D&D Representative will post the selected Candidates' numbers on the board after the meeting with the Artistic Directors

  5. Candidates identified as potential recruits will be called in for a meeting(s) with Artistic Director(s).

  6.  Candidates who did not pass to the second round and staying, are allowed to observe GA from the audience at no additional charge.

Reimbursements / Cancellations

​

Reimbursements will only be granted in the event of illness or injury, and only if the student/candidate presents two separate medical certificates from two different specialized physicians. Certificates issued by physiotherapists and osteopaths will not be accepted. Handwritten certificates are also not accepted. Long-term injuries or illnesses resulting from previous or chronic injuries or illnesses will not be considered for reimbursements.

 

All certificates issued by physicians must be on official medical stationery with letterhead and must include the doctor's name, the name of the institution/clinic with the complete address, and a signature in ink. The certificates must specify the diagnosis in accordance with the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. It should also include the date of the injury or illness, the date of issuance of the certificate, the physician's signature and collegial number, and the issuing authority. Certificates for reimbursements must be submitted no later than December 1, 2023 (00.00hrs). Certificates for injuries or illnesses that occurred after December 1, 2023, will not be accepted. Injuries resulting from prior injuries are not eligible for a refund. Any information provided by the Candidate is strictly confidential and will not be shared with any other party.

 

A maximum reimbursement of 200 Euros will be provided to injured or ill candidates who are able to provide all the required documents on time.

 

Any other cancellations or withdrawals before or during the GRAND AUDITION do not entitle the candidate to a fee refund. If a candidate decides not to attend or participate in the GRAND AUDITION at the last minute for any reason, they will not be eligible for a refund. Candidates will not be transferred from one Grand Audition event to another if such an event takes place. A new registration will have to be submitted.

The Candidate or his parents / legal representatives understand and agree that during the GRAND AUDITION, he/she may be photographed and/or filmed during the audition or performance of the Variation. The Candidate or his parents / legal representatives grants D&D Art Productions an unrestricted right to use in any form the image, picture, likeness, voice, and/or name of the Candidate for all D&D Art Productions promotional materials including brochures, newspaper articles, books, and/or television and for commercial purposes. The candidate agrees to adhere to the policies therein.
The video is not for sale and it is a property of D&D Art Productions.

Indemnification

Candidate or his parents / legal representatives hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless D&D Art Productions and/or the agents, employees, and directors of this institution (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) for any loss, claim, damage, suit, costs or expenses, including attorneys’ fees and court costs, resulting from or arising out of any injury to any person or damage to property, caused by the Candidate or whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Indemnified Parties, incurred as a result of or during the GRAND AUDITION or any activities in connection with the GRAND AUDITION.

 

Assumption of the Risk of Participation and Use of D&D Premises

By signing this Agreement, Candidate or his parents / legal representatives agree to assume full responsibility for, and risk of, bodily injury, death, or property damage which relate to or arise out of Candidate’s entry into or use of the D&D Art Productions Premises in any way. By signing this Agreement Candidate or his parents / legal representatives acknowledge that the risks associated with entry into and use of the D&D Premises may be both foreseen and unforeseen, and may include serious physical injury and/or death, and other personal and property damages, and agree to assume all associated risks.

 

It is mandatory that the Candidate takes out personal health / medical, travel, and accident insurance which is valid in the EU.

The Declaration

​

I hereby declare that all the information I have provided is complete and accurate and that I am physically fit to participate in the event.

 

I, the undersigned, acknowledge that I am about to participate in a Dance activity that requires significant physical effort. I declare that I am in good health and have prepared accordingly for the activity. I understand that participating in the Grand Audition event without being adequately physically prepared may pose a risk to my health.

 

I am aware that the organizing committee of the event, the hosting party, the organizers and producers, and the sponsors will not be held responsible for any harm or injuries I may sustain, including those that may occur prior to, during, or after the event. I also understand that they are not liable for any loss or damage to my personal belongings.

 

I declare that if I experience any illness symptoms, such as fever, digestive issues, or cough, during the Grand Audition, I will consult a physician prior to participating and obtain permission to do so.

 

I hereby grant permission to the production company, as well as the sponsors, organizers, management, and producers of the Grand Audition, to use any photographs and videos of me for public relations, marketing, television, and advertising purposes, without payment or compensation.

 

By making the Registration and Event Administrative payment, I understand that I am engaging the services of D&D Art Productions (referred to as "ORGANISER" in this Agreement) to present myself to multiple directors representing professional ballet companies at the Grand Audition event.

Force Majeure​

If events beyond the reasonable control of the parties to this agreement occur, including but not limited to the following: (1) acts of God, (2) war, including armed conflict, (3) strikes or labor disputes, (4) an epidemic or pandemic, (5) government regulation or advisory (including travel advisory warnings), (6) civil disturbance, (7) terrorism or threats of terrorism as substantiated by governmental warnings or advisory notices, (8) curtailment of transportation services or facilities that would significantly impact attendees from attending the event, (9) disaster, fire, earthquakes, hurricanes, (10) unseasonable extreme inclement weather, (11) shortages or disruption of electrical power supply causing blackouts or rolling blackouts or other essential utilities, or (12) any other cause reasonably beyond the parties' control (collectively referred to as "occurrences"), and these occurrences make it commercially impractical, impractical to perform, illegal, or impossible to fully perform under this agreement as originally contracted, and these events affect the region where the GRAND AUDITION takes place, then the affected party may terminate this agreement, without any liability or obligation to refund the registration fee, upon written notification. The term "without liability," as used in this agreement, means there will be no liquidated damages, attrition fees, cancellation fees, reimbursement of costs, service charges, or any direct, consequential, compensatory, special incidental damages, or any other damages or amounts of any nature whatsoever, as specified in any provision of this agreement.

Choice of Law and Forum Selection

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Catalunya (Spain). The parties agree that any disputes related to this agreement should be resolved amicably. In the event that the issue cannot be resolved amicably, the parties agree to submit all disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Barcelona.
The Candidate or their parents/legal representatives voluntarily sign this Agreement and further acknowledge that no oral statements or inducements have been made apart from the written agreement mentioned above.

 

Additional Clause

The organizer reserves the right in case of a Pandemic, to switch the Grand Audition to an Online format if restrictions are imposed by the government/theatre or if there is a threat to the health and safety of participants/organizers/directors. If such occurs Candidates will be introduced to online format rules and regulations.  

Rules and regulations of participation in the Grand Audition may change and will be updated regularly. Candidates will be informed about any changes that may occur. We reserve the right to change or replace Company Directors originally announced.
